SUMMARY:Summer Art Camp at KACC
DESCRIPTION:Jul 14th – Aug 8th\, 2025 | Kerr Arts & Cultural Center \nThe mission of KACC’s summer art camp for youth is to foster creative thinking and encourage artistic abilities in young people. \nEach child involved in our art classes will learn about different art mediums from professional art instructors. Classes will offer hands-on creative projects in everything from wood working and fiber arts to painting and collage. \nClasses are held 9 am to noon\, Monday through Friday. Class sizes are small in order to provide a quality\, hands-on experience to participants. Tuition is $100 a week and a discount is offered to families with more than one child. Additional children can attend for only $75.

DESCRIPTION:In the wake of the devastating flood on July 4\, our community has shown incredible strength\, resilience\, and compassion. As we continue to recover and rebuild together\, the City of Kerrville Parks and Recreation Department invites you to take a moment to reconnect\, recharge and celebrate the spirit of unity that defines us. We are proud to host a FREE Pop-Up Carnival at the beautiful Kerrville-Schreiner Park\, a place for laughter\, joy and togetherness for all ages\, just before school begins. Join us from Wednesday\, Aug. 6 to Tuesday\, Aug. 12 between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. each day for classic carnival entertainment nestled in nature. \nUpon entering Kerrville-Schreiner Park\, all guests are asked to stop by the Parks and Recreation Office located at 2385 Bandera Hwy. Park staff will provide directions to Pecan Loop\, parking instructions\, and any other helpful information to make your visit as smooth as possible. Entry fees will be waived throughout the duration of the event. Please be aware that\, due to recent weather events\, the river area is closed to the public for safety reasons while cleanup and debris removal are in progress. SUMMARY:City of Kerrville Planning & Zoning Commission Meeting
DESCRIPTION:P&Z meets the first Thursday each month in Council Chambers at City Hall. The meetings are open to the public. Their duties include: \n\nShall formulate and recommend to the city council for adoption a Comprehensive Plan for the orderly growth and development of the city and its environs. On a yearly basis the commission shall review and if necessary recommend such changes in the plan as it finds will facilitate the movement of people and goods\, and the health\, recreation\, safety and general welfare of the citizens of the city.\nShall formulate a zoning plan (ordinance) as may be deemed best to carry out the goals of the Comprehensive Plan; hold public hearings and make recommendations to the city council relating to the creation\, amendment\, and implementation of zoning regulations and districts as provided in state law.\nShall exercise all powers of a commission as to approval or disapproval of plans\, plats\, or replats as set out by state law and the city’s subdivision regulations.\nShall initiate for consideration at public hearings\, proposals for the original zoning of annexed areas or for the change of zoning district boundaries on an area wide basis.\nShall consider and take appropriate action\, upon written request\, variances as prescribed to the city’s subdivision and sign regulations.\nShall from time to time recommend such changes to the subdivision regulations\, sign regulations\, and any other ordinance the city council assigns to their review that will facilitate the general health\, safety and welfare of the citizens of the city.
