SUMMARY:City of Kerrville Planning & Zoning Commission Meeting
DESCRIPTION:P&Z meets the first Thursday each month in Council Chambers at City Hall. The meetings are open to the public. Their duties include: \n\nShall formulate and recommend to the city council for adoption a Comprehensive Plan for the orderly growth and development of the city and its environs. On a yearly basis the commission shall review and if necessary recommend such changes in the plan as it finds will facilitate the movement of people and goods\, and the health\, recreation\, safety and general welfare of the citizens of the city.\nShall formulate a zoning plan (ordinance) as may be deemed best to carry out the goals of the Comprehensive Plan; hold public hearings and make recommendations to the city council relating to the creation\, amendment\, and implementation of zoning regulations and districts as provided in state law.\nShall exercise all powers of a commission as to approval or disapproval of plans\, plats\, or replats as set out by state law and the city’s subdivision regulations.\nShall initiate for consideration at public hearings\, proposals for the original zoning of annexed areas or for the change of zoning district boundaries on an area wide basis.\nShall consider and take appropriate action\, upon written request\, variances as prescribed to the city’s subdivision and sign regulations.\nShall from time to time recommend such changes to the subdivision regulations\, sign regulations\, and any other ordinance the city council assigns to their review that will facilitate the general health\, safety and welfare of the citizens of the city.

SUMMARY:KPA Fur Ball 2025
DESCRIPTION:Since Kerrville Pets Alive’s Formation in 2019\, the cats in Kerr County have suffered many challenges. During that time\, the majority of the cats that were impounded at Kerr County Animal Services were euthanized after 72 business hours. Many were cats that had been abandoned and found their way to porches looking for food. They were a victim of their circumstances. We called these cats the cats in the dark. No one ever saw them and they simply disappeared. \nKPA! worked with Kerr County officials to give these cats a chance at life. We were given access to the cats to evaluate and socialize them so that that we could find them homes or adopt them out as barn cats. We also funded their vaccines and spay/neuter surgeries. \nAs the result of our efforts\, thousands of cats have been saved. The Great Catsby will honor of all the cats and dogs who used to be in the dark and now see the light. We hope this event raises awareness and funds to support our continued efforts.
