Author Monika Maeckle to present “Plants with Purpose”

September 13, 2025 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

The Butt-Holdsworth Memorial Library and the Hill Country Master Naturalists invite the community to an inspiring author talk with Monika Maeckle, conservationist, journalist, and founder of the Texas Butterfly Ranch. Maeckle will discuss her newly released book, “Plants with Purpose”, on Saturday, Sept. 13, from 2- 3:30 p.m. in the library’s first-floor meeting room.

In “Plants with Purpose”, Maeckle highlights the beauty and resilience of native plants while exploring how the natural world influences and enriches our daily lives. During the program, she will share insights from her book, answer audience questions, and reflect on her work as an advocate for pollinators and biodiversity.

A heartfelt thank you to H-E-B and their “Pollinators for Texas” program for funding the expansion of the beautiful pollinator garden at the Kerr County Courthouse. It’s a wonderful representation of pollinator-friendly landscaping. Books will be available for purchase at the event.

The event is free and open to the public. For more information, please contact the library at (830) 258-1274 or visit the library website at www.kerrville.tx.gov.
